On the night before Thanksgiving in 2002, writer/director Jason Christ was in a car accident which resulted in the temporary halting of production. The production resumed in March of 2003.
The camera that is shown in a prologue scene with the character of Mikki Lomack (Lisa A. Morrison) is the production camera that was actually used to shoot the original SAVAGE HARVEST in 1993 / 94. Most of the SAVAGE HARVEST 2: OCTOBER BLOOD footage of Mikki Lomack was shot with this camera.
The farm location that is seen in the second half of the film, which was affectionately referred to by the cast and crew as "The Death Farm", is actually a functioning farm that has been owned and operated by writer/director Jason Christ's family since 1960.
In scene 60, the first major fight sequence of the film between the protagonists and the demon-possessed, a majority of the footage was lost due to camera malfunctions, which resulted in a re-shoot of nearly the entire sequence. This would not be the last scene that would be affected by camera problems.
Lisa A. Morrison was forced to leave the production to serve a tour of duty in Iraq for the U.S. Army before she completed all of her scenes for the film. The remaining scene that Lisa was not able to appear in was a hallucinogenic nightmare sequence (scene 33) with the character of Ashley Lomack (Emily Haack) that had to be completely rewritten from scratch to involve the Mikki Lomack character without having Lisa on set.
Mason (Jonathan Baker) and Judy's (Ceily Davis) surname of "Kerrigan" is derived from director Lodge Kerrigan.
In scene 29, Tyge Murdock (Benjamin Gaa) is watching a VHS copy of an amateurish horror film that he made in high school called "Dark Aura". Dark Aura is actually writer/director Jason Christ's first feeble attempt at making a film. It was shot in the fall of 1993 and the spring/summer of 1994. At approximately the same time, Stanze and company were shooting the original SAVAGE HARVEST about 20 miles away.
